Why Dragons?

According to Chinese culture, the dragon figure is a mystical creature representing strength, nobility, courage, kindness. It can also represent good fortune, higher aspirations and spirituality. Dragon energy is what “moves us”. The three dragons that we use in this programme represent three different motivational systems or emotional states. By learning about them children and adults can have a better emotional regulation mental wealth and relationships with each other. The earlier we learn these skills the better.

The coloured dragons represents our three brain modes and systems of regulating emotion. The red dragon is on the look out for threat; the blue dragon is our drive and focus; and the green dragon is what soothes and keeps us calm.
